We had a tree stump removed from our back garden. Communication was great from the beginning to the end. Toby was on time, did a great job and left as if he had never been there, impressive considering it's a 'messy' job!
Excellent service and definitely recommend South Coast stump grinding. Toby arrived on time, worked hard using top rate equipment for the job. Very competitively priced, polite, efficient and tidy. Great job done.
Following a really pathetic attempt at a stump grind, I contacted Toby who called me back that day , arranged when to come in and did a fantastic professional and proper job using an amazing top of the range grinder - I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him , communication very good and pricing brilliant . You can tell he has pride in his work - doesn’t cut corners , very safe - he’s your man .
Excellent professional and friendly service. Used Toby to remove a substantial 4ft plus stump from my front garden. Would highly recommend South Coast Stump Grinding.

After a tree is removed and a stump remines, a grinder is a fast and efficient way to remove them. The machine spins a cutting wheel sweeping at the stump, reducing it into chips and dust.
Grinding the stump away produces a mix of woodchips and soil. This is either spread out or piled up over the site depending on the size of the stump, piles of mulch will breakdown over time and weather. The grindings also offer great mulch for garden beds.
Yes! However, depending on the size and access to the stump the machine may only grind to a certain depth, meaning some large roots and stump bases may remain under ground. These will, once disconnected from the main stump, quickly rot once covered by soil allowing for planting at a later date.
If the stump was located in a lawn and you wish to grass over, it is best to remove all grindings and replace with soil as grindings will rot away leaving a divot.
